The Project |
- Began in April 2009 in Urubamba
- Carried out by NeVo, with support from the Municipality of Urubamba
- Environmental awareness and protection initiative designed to combat the destruction of Peru’s valuable natural environment and to create healthier, sustainable lifestyles for the people of Urubamba

- Organized Municipal Environmental Committee
- Organized an environmentally-oriented theater group
- Organized an Ecology Club that has carried out informational sessions on how to care for the environment
- Trained personnel for public cleaning

Goals |
- Promote civil awareness and dialogue about the environment and promote a sense of citizen participation and responsibility for the environment
- Pursue the creation of safe sewage systems and toilets in educational institutions, state facilities, markets, etc.
- Collaborate with public health entities to improve the quality of life in Urubamba
- Carry out research that promotes biodiversity, analyzes socio-environmental conflicts, and combats deforestation in the community

- Three communications and coordination specialists to promote, organize, and carry out environmental awareness events and campaigns
- Three legal interns to help with the development of declarations and policies regarding environmental protection
- Three supervising collaborators to help with supervision of public services and corporate compliance with environmental norms and reporting
