Nexos Voluntarios

Volunteer in Human rights in Peru

NeVo has been developing a initiative against racism and racial discrimination in Urubamba, Peru, since 2009. The Initiative has relied almost completely on volunteer effort, and has also received support from Aprodeh (one of the most important nonprofit, non-governmental organizations working to promote human rights in Peru today) and the Municipal government of Urubamba, Peru. Peru has a complicated history of social inequality, which began with the Spanish conquest and colonialism and continues to divide society today. As a volunteer, you will create awareness about discriminatory practices and the history of racism in Peru among students at Urubamba grade schools. A volunteer on this project might also work with public and private institutions to promote the eradication of racism and discriminatory practices in the Urubamba community. Volunteer for equality in Peru!
